After coming to the defence of Amitabh Bachchan, Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray on Friday lashed out at his estranged nephew and MNS chief, Raj Thackeray, calling him a ‘chicken’ in politics who is ‘suffering from bird flu of depression’.
In a hard-hitting editorial in the party’s mouthpiece Saamna, Thackeray described Raj’s campaign against North Indians as a means to build his political career, and asserted that Shiv Sena was the only voice of the Marathi-speaking people.
“The relationship between the party and Maharashtrians is not a political alliance, but that of a family. It is laughable that some people, who have quit this family, should speak of the welfare of Maharashtrians,” he said.
However, on the influx of people from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh he supported the concern expressed by Raj.
