The mood was sombre and the audience, deeply clued into the words of Navroze Contractor, the award-winning Indian cinematographer as he remembered his friend and equally well-known cinematographer the late K K Mahajan at the II Bengaluru International Film Festival on Wednesday.
“There are people who talk about technology but KK was more concerned about the power of the camera,” said Navroze.
He met KK during the shooting of ‘Uski Roti’. “ He believed in sharing knowledge,” he said. K K Mahajan passed away in July 2007.

Chandra Siddan whose film ‘Remembrance of Things Present’ was screened on Wednesday said her feminist documentary was based on her own real life experiences while Shyam Prasad’s film ‘Ore Kadal’ (the sea within) which is based on a Bengali novel explores a relationship going through tremendous conflict.
