Autos to go off roads tomorrow
Autorickshaw drivers affiliated to Autorickshaw Drivers’ Association will go off the road on Friday demanding an increase in autorickshaw fares. The demand follows a hike in auto LPG price. It is seeking a minimum fare of Rs 20 and Rs 10 per km. Autorickshaws will not ply between 6 am and 6 pm on that day.
City roads set to get new ‘coat’
The BBMP has invited tender for asphaltation and improvement of roads in Dasarahalli zone at a cost of Rs 8.20 crore. The BBMP has identified 11 roads for improvement in the zone. It is making use of funds to the tune of Rs 250 crore allocated by the State government for upgradation of roads in new zones.
The BBMP has taken up asphaltation of roads in Rajarajeshwari Nagar zone. Asphaltation is in progress on a 3-km stretch between BEML Manipal Hospital and Shakti Apartment, 1-km stretch between Channasandra Kanakadasa Circle and BEML double road, the road connecting Shirke Apartments and KHB housing complex and roads in Nagarbhavi.
