Annamalai University signed an MoU with the Institute of Fire Engineering and Safety Management, Visakhapatnam to offer Fire and Safety Programmes through Distance Education mode.
Dr L B Venkatrangan, Vice-Chancellor, Annamalai University stated that this technical collaboration with the Institute of Fire Engineering and Safety Management professionally helps industrial personnel to safeguard industrial units against fire and other accidents.
Certificate courses in Fire and Safety (3 months), Diploma in Fire and Safety (1 Year), Advanced Diploma in Fire and Safety (6 months), PG Diploma in Fire and Safety (1 Year), Diploma in Occupational Health, Safety and Environment (1 Year), PG Diploma in Occupational Health, Safety and Environment (1 Year) are introduced.
Candidates who study these programmes will be equipped with the knowledge of operating fire equipment, usage of fire extinguishers, rescue operations, damage assessment, compensation procedures etc. The Vice-Chancellor said that knowledge and skills of safety professional programmes can go a long way in limiting the consequences of natural and man made disasters. Conducting of exclusive programmes in the area of Fire and Safety by Annamalai University with the Institute of Fire Engineering and Safety Management will give an opportunity to young people to get exposure in safety techniques.
