MLC Cheppudeera S Arun Machaiah said that in the forthcoming Vidhan Sabha elections, he too will be candidate from JD(S).
Speaking about various development projects of the government in the taluk during his visit to the town on Tuesday, he said “If party workers, locals, supporters and friends extend support, I have decided to contest from Somwarpete taluk.” Replying to a query that there can other contestants from the party for the elections, he said if party taluk president V P Shashidhar contests, he will decide regarding contesting from some other taluk in the district. 
Answering to a query regarding the confusions in the Somwarpete taluk JD(S) unit, Mr Arun Machaiah said there are differences in the party just a any other party and it will be solved through dialogues.  Taluk president Shashidhar has succeeded in organising the party, he said. The governance of former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy will help the party in the forthcoming elections, he opined. 
Party taluk president V P Shashidhar said though the party is being organised, some workers give statements on their own and create confusions. The youth wing has been dissolved already. After constituting hobli level units, the taluk and district units will be constituted, he informed. TP member C L Vishwa, leaders of various units including Keremane Manju, Nangaru Jaga and A P Ramesh were present.
