On the basis of the 20 month rule of Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, the party must be strengthened from the grassroot level, said State JD(S) general secretary Veeresh.
Speaking after inaugurating the hobli-level party workers’ convention organised by Kushalnagar hobli Youth JD(S) unit on Tuesday, he said if party workers work with self-confidence, the party will come to power on its own. Lauding the JD(S) party unit in Somwarpete, party workers must prepare themselves for elections, he advised.
Periyapattana former MLA H C Basavaraj said the developments works undertaken during the tenure of former CM H D Kumaraswamy will keep the party in good stead. However, the efforts of BJP and other parties to weaken the party will not succeed, he said. The huge gathering at the convention and 100 new candidates who have entered into the party is an answer to the allegations being made against the convention.
Hobli Youth JD(S) unit President Nangaru Jaga, Taluk Panchayat member C L Vishwa, taluk minorities unit president Abdul Razak, Hassan Milk Union director Guddemane B Ashwath and Jayakumar were present. A procession was taken out to the venue of the convention.
