Suvarna Grama Yojane at Thorenoor

  Zilla Panchayat Chief Dheergakeshi Shivanna has opined that Suvarna Gramodaya Yojane has helped in the overall development of the village by bringing about cleanliness in the villages and by developing the roads and providing drinking water facilities.
Inaugurating the Suvarna Grama Yojane in Thorenoor Gram Panchayat on Sunday, she said that the local residents of the village must involve themselves in the implementation of the programme and see to it that quality works take place under this project. 
Taluk Panchayat President Geetha Basappa said that residents must make use of the facilities available under the employment guarantee schemes. 
Gram Panchayat President Vedavathi presided over the  programme.
Rs 1.17 crore funds:
A estimation of about Rs 1.17 crore has been prepared to take up various programmes under the Suvarna Gramodaya Project, of which Rs 30 lakh will be used for road repairs, Rs 30.90 lakh for  drainage, Rs 1 lakh for waste disposal, Rs 10 lakh for construction of Community Hall,Rs 7.02 lakh for Anganwadi centres, Rs 20 lakhs for Human Resource development and other programmes.
