Nischal alone accounted for more than 50 percent of Karnataka's total as the hosts ran up an impressive 413 for two in 90 overs in their unfinished first innings.
Nischal's massive 242, which came in a mere 275 balls with the help of 36 hits to the fence, was the cornerstone of Karnataka's innings. The youngster isn't finished yet!
Nischal put the Kerala bowlers to the sword with attractive strokeplay and he seldom looked in danger during his stay at the crease.
The visitors’ bowlers looked clueless on the face of Nischal’s onslaught, and their lot did not improve even for once on the day as homeside racked up mountain of a total on day one.
KS Pawan struck 62 while Abhinav Manohar chipped in with 36. Abhishek Reddy (40) was giving Nischal company.
