Thousands of devotees irrespective of caste, creed and religion from the nook and corner of the coastal districts thronged the Infant Jesus shrine in Bikarnakatte on Thursday.
Though devotees started arriving in the morning itself, the grand mass celebrated by Belgaum Diocese Bishop Most Rev Dr Peter Machado witnessed thousands of devotees.
The shrine was decked up and the road leading to the shrine was lit up adding colour to the programme. In fact, the day began with a Konkani mass at 6 am which was followed by mass in different languages including Kannada, English and Malayalam.
There was also a special mass for the sick at 10.15 am and a mass for non-Christians in Kannada at 1.30 pm.
