The Akrama-Sakrama penalty payers’ committee held a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office demanding to vacate the stay order of the Court regarding Akrama-Sakrama, which has been going on in the state in a brisk pace.
The owners of such buildings are confused due to the stay order. Though they are ready to pay fine, they have been deprived of regularising their buildings. Besides that, the government is also losing income due to the stay order, the members added. They have requested that the stay order be limited to Bangalore and buildings in other parts of Karnataka have to be regularised by paying penalties, in a memorandum submitted to the DC be forwarded to the Governor.
