Russia To Call Summit Parleys
London, Jan. 10.
Russia announced last night that she intends to call within the next two or three months a conference of Heads of Government to consider a series of definite proposals for easing world tension.
The announcement came in letters from Marshal Nikolai Bulganin to Mr Harold Macmillan, President Eisenhower, and leaders of 17 other countries, including all members of the Atlantic alliance, Moscow Radio reported.
I Did Not Betray, Wails Abdulla
Kud, Jan. 10.
Sheikh Abdulla, former Kashmir Premier, said today that his stand on Kashmir “remains unchanged” and “the people’s will in regard to the future of the State must prevail.”
Wearing a Kashmiri shawl and a brown coat, Sheikh Abdulla met journalists in the government dak bungalow, and added “ I am one of those four million people of Kashmir.”

First-ever Janata Govt For State

Bangalore, Jan. 10.
For the first time in the history of Karnataka non-Congress Ministry headed by Janata leader Ramakrishna Hegde was sworn in at a colourful function here today. The 56-years-old Mr Hegde with his seven-member team took the oath of office at 4 pm in the lawns of Raj Bhavan. The other ministers are: Messrs S R Bommai, Deve Gowda, VL Patil, A Lakshmisagar, R Rachaiah, Abdul Nazir Sab and Smt Chandraprabha Urs.
