With Valentine season just round the corner, youngsters are saving up to woo their better halves this winter. But for all those with extra cash, the season offers an alternative. Either one can now go in for the newly launched ‘People’s car’ costing just Rs one lakh or buy a drink for the same amount.
Yes, a drink worth Rs one lakh. Called the “Cupid’s Love Punch”, it is probably the most exclusive and expensive wine cocktail available for the Delhiites launched by a leading Indian wine maker. The speciality of this drink apart from its key ingredient, Sauvignon Blanc and Peach Schnapps (Italian sweet liquor) along with orange juice and aerated drink is a diamond ring at the bottom of the drink served in an Italian crystal glass.
Calming nerves
According to ND Wines who have launched the cocktail, it is solely made for the people who are deeply in love and want to propose to their better half in a unique way.
Eyeing the Valentines season, the wine maker has also come out with cheaper alternatives like ‘Soothing swig’ for the ‘flirtatious types’ priced for a handsome Rs. 20,000. If you think that was enough, there is ‘Love in your prime’ cocktail which costs Rs 15, 000. While the firm is optimistic about the sale of these cocktails, youngsters wonder if it is all worth it. “Valentine for me is special. Though I like the idea of proposing my girlfriend with a diamond ring in a glass of wine or champagne, I will never pay Rs one lakh for a drink. Buying the best wine in the city would also not cost me that much,” says Harsh Sharma, a senior banking executive.
Rajesh Parihar, Marketing Head ND Wines says, “We have always believed in providing the most outstanding wine. We have created these cocktails so that couples can have an air of love around them throughout this season.”
The one lakh cocktail is currently available only in Sartoria Restrobar, New Delhi till February 14 though company officials say that it will also be available in other major Indian cities depending on its response in the capital.
