DSS workers seek CBI inquiry
DH News Service, Kolar:

Demanding a retrial of the Kambalapalli and Nagalahalli dalit massacre, DSS (Ambedkar) workers reached Kolar on foot on Monday   as a part of the Jatha taken out on Sunday from Nagalahalli. The workers also demanded the case to be handed over to CBI for investigation.

The workers reached Kolar via Kolar Gold Fields and Bangarpet and had earlier halted at Bangarpet.

Later, at a public meeting the dalit leaders criticised the elected representatives for the alleged negligence and apathy they have shown  in dalit massacre incident . They questioned representatives on they not supporting the issue. The leaders alleged that the victims failed to get justice in court due the negligence of police who sided with the perpetrators of the crime and did not do their job honestly.

Criticising the government for failing to provide justice to the citizens, the leaders questioned the government on it apathy and said that government which makes laws didn’t bother to provide proper security to the witnesses of the case. Had the proper security been provided court verdict in the case would have been different, they added.

Accusing the political parties and representatives of treating the dalits as vote banks they said that none of the political parties have bothered to support dalits in their quest for justice. They added that DSS (Ambedkar) would continue to fight till it gets justice.

Demanding the case to be reopen in the same court the workers said that this time proper security should be given to the eye witnesses.

The workers later submitted a memorandum regarding this to DC.
