Old students should contribute to the educational institution in which they have studied. They should serve as a source of inspiration to the freshers. Therefore holding such old students’ meet is important, said Siddaganga mutt junior seer Sri Siddaganga Swami.
He was speaking at the 4th annual general body meeting of the old students of the Siddaganga Arts, Science and Commerce College.
Association of old students play a vital role in constructing and organising society, said Prof D Chandrappa, who was the chief guest at the function.
Students of this college are spread across the world. Thus, the old students are an asset of this college, he added.
Old students should guide the new students appropriately with their valuable suggestions and cooperation. Moreover, they should take part in the growth and development of the new students and the institution as well, said Principal D Manjunath Adiga.
At the meet the old students gifted Rs 10,001 to Sri Siddaganga Swamiji for the celebration of 101st birthday celebrations of Dr Sri Shivakumar Swamiji.
Also, present on the occasion were C P Rajappa, Biligere Shivakumar, T J Mohan, R Ranganna and others.
Prof C S Somashekar submitted a report of the activities of the old students’ association.
Awards were conferred upon students, who had secured the highest marks.
