“Match words with deed,” says Menon
Bombay, Dec. 31.
Mr V K Krishna Menon, Union Defence Minister, said here today that if the Pakistan Prime Minister, Mr Feroz Khan Noon, wished to remove from the minds of the Indian people the fear that Pakistan wanted war with India, then he (Mr Noon) should match his words with actions.

Asked at Santa Cruz airport to comment on the statement made by Mr Noon at Dacca, Mr Krishna Menon said that an avowal of peaceful intentions was always to be welcomed.

Improve standards of Teaching English
Madras, Dec. 31.
The 32nd All-India Educational Conference, which concluded today, recommended to improve the standard of teaching English in view of the importance of the study of English as a language in our educational institutions.

Cochin, Dec. 31.
Three persons sustained bullet injuries when police opened fire on a violent mob at Kompara in the Mattancherry area of the city tonight. A police party was attacked by 1500 - strong crowd with missiles including lighted torches, acid bulbs and stones and also set a police jeep on fire, the city Police Commissioner said.
