The Indian Railways (IR) on Monday initiated the process for the development of 22 major railway stations as world class stations by floating a global tender for the upgradation of New Delhi station.
Besides the New Delhi station, other stations to be developed are located in metropolitan cities and major tourist centres.
The Public Private Partnership (PPP) route would be adopted to make them world class standandards. Bangalore City station would be one of the stations slated to be modernised.
