Union Minister K H Muniyappa and former Home Minister M P Prakash who gave away the award to Prof Ahmed also felicitated senior journalists K Sridhar Achar and D Baburaj. The press club ‘Diary 2008’ was released on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Muniyappa lauded the services of the Press Club of Bangalore which completed its 31st year of establishment. “Media has been the strength of our democratic society. Journalists in our state are unbiased in their approach. I congratulate the club in its 31st year” he added.
Kannada film actors Prem, Ramya and Pooja Gandhi were the special invitees. A music nite was organised by the club to usher in the new year in with pomp.
