The activists of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike protested against exhibiting a telugu movie ‘Okkamagadu’ which was released on friday and demanded to exhibit kannada movie instead here.
They also laid siege to the theatre, saying that, the theatre owners are not following the rule that films from other languages should be exhibited in a theatre only after four weeks in Karnataka.
They condemned the decision of the theatre owner.
The situation could have gone out of control but it was brought under control by the intervention of police.
Police circle inspector B N Krishna Moorthy, Sathyanarayan Kudoor and staff arrested the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike activists and the Deputy Commissioner asked the theatre owner to cancel the exhibition of the movie.
