Spot drawing contest
Bharat Scouts and Guides, Kolar district, has organised spot drawing competition for scouts, guides, cub and bulbuls on Saturday at Sarvagna park in Kolar as part of the National Youth Day. 
All the students who are in scouts and guides in their respective school should take part in the competition. Two students each from every section can take part in the competition, said Bharat Scouts and Guides Coordinating Commissioner N Narayanaswamy.
Students should bring their own colours  and others necessary items with them to the competition which will start at 10.00 am in the morning, he added.

Instant Money Order
Indian Postal Department has launched a new service in the form of Instant Money Order at Kolar Head Post office.
People can now not only send money ranging from Rs 1000 to Rs 50,000 to prominent cities in India but can also receive vice-versa in matter of minutes, said Kolar Senior Postal Superintendent R Kanakarajan. The cost of the sending the money if sent in large sum will be less than the cost of sending it through the existing money order, he added.
He has urged the people make use of the facility and said that their are plans to extent this facility to Chikkaballapur and Robertsonpet.
