Ice-cream extravaganza

The Cream and Fudge Factory, the ice-cream chain has opened its first ever outlet in India at Koramangala. This brand has been brought into India by Global Franchise Architects which is a Geneva based group that builds, operates and franchises a portfolio of speciality food service brands, some of which include Pizza Corner, The Donut Baker and Coffee World.

The store offers exotic ice-cream combinations like Chocolate Truffle sensation and Raspberry cream pie. The unique feature of the Cream and Fudge Factory is that customers can select their choice of flavours and then the ice-cream is hand folded on a frozen marble stone with own choices of delicious mix-ins. The choices of mix-ins include Oreo cookies, Ferrero Rocher bits and even chunks of snickers bar.

The outlet also offers a menu of proprietory and innovative creations made at the store. The house speciality includes Black Forest (cherry pie filling, brownie, chocolate), Rocky Road (roasted almond, roasted walnut, mini marshmallow, chocolate fudge), Coffee Break (bread crumb, Kit-Kat and caramel fudge), Apple Crumble Pie (bread crumb, apple pie filling, cinnamon powder, caramel fudge), Banana Chocolate Fudge (roasted almond, banana, chocolate fudge), Strawberry Shortcake (strawberry pie filling, vanilla sponge cake, caramel fudge) among the 20-odd combinations. One can also choose their own mix-ins.

Pongal at Southindies

To bring out the spirit of Pongal, a specially created elaborate spread of the choicest dishes is prepared and served at Southindies. The Pongal feast will be served from January 13 to 15. Through these three days, enjoy a special Pongal lunch buffet at Rs 225 plus taxes.

The food festival at Southindies celebrates Pongal, the harvest festival and the Tamil equivalent of Thanksgiving.

Pongal means a preparation of milk and rice boiled together and this stylish South Indian speciality restaurant will serve up a variety of dishes straight from the kitchen fire.

Located on 100-ft Road, Indira Nagar, Southindies, the fine dining restaurant is a speciality restaurant that brings together the four cultures and four cuisines from the four states of Southern India.

A buffet with a wide variety of traditional dishes will be served. Steamed rice with Chettinad Sambar, Avarakkai kuzambu and Urullai varuval along with the very famous Paal Pongal and Kal kand Pongal  will be served. The buffet will also include a variety of rasams along with a whole other famous dishes from Tamil Nadu.

Sankaranthi fare

Hallimane, the rural restaurant, located on 3rd Cross, Sampige Road, Malleswaram, is offering a traditional Sankranthi meal on January 14 and 15 from 12 noon to 3.30 pm and 7 pm to 10.30 pm. The traditional meal comprises kokum, tambuli, podi, gojju, bhavana shunti, banana halwa, wheat halwa, payasa, sajje holige, kosambari, khara pongal, happala-sandige, sweet pongal and chilly bajji among the 30 items. The guests will be welcomed with the traditional yelu-bella.

In the article titled,‘From garish hoardings to flashy LCDs’, it was mentioned that the rental for advertising on the LED screens would cost Rs 50,000 a month. The amount is Rs three-and-a-half lakh a month. The error is regretted.
