The family members of Ramesh, who committed suicide after allegedly ramming his car against former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda’s car, denied receiving threats.
“No one came to threaten us. We are reading it only in newspapers,” said Ramesh’s mother, three days after the incident.
She and her relatives said nothing had happened to them. Ramesh’s brother maintained there was no threat because 300 families from their community lived in the area. Ramesh’s uncle said his nephew didn’t have any suicidal tendencies.
It was reported some youths had gone to Ramesh’s house warning him with dire consequences.
There was elaborate security arrangements near Gowda’s residence on Friday.
