Bellary, dhns: BJP MLC Janardhan Reddy on Friday announced the setting up of a steel industry in Karnataka on the lines of Brahmani Steel Industry in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh.
Addressing a news conference here on the occasion of his birthday, he said that the work would begin after the BJP comes to power in the State after the Assembly polls.
Mr Reddy said he was prepared to accept any responsibility given to him, to bring the party back to power in the State with a full majority and though he was suspended he would continue to work for the party.
The MLC has however changed his stand on M P Prakash’s possible induction to the party.
Though he had initially opposed it, Reddy now said “Prakash is an experienced senior leader. But if he (Prakash) joins the party with high demands, then we will object,” he clarified.
He also touched upon issue of tickets to Prakash’s supporters, saying that the state leaders would decide upon it.

The BJP and the Congress are making all efforts to woo estranged JD(S) leader M P Prakash and his followers. Close on the heels of Prakash - Oscar Fernandes meeting, BJP leader R Ashok met the former home minister on Friday. According to BJP sources, the party wants Prakash to join it and has also assured party tickets to them in the coming elections which was brought to his notice R Ashok in meeting . They also added that the BJP is eager for Prakash to join its fold and are trying very hard to avoid him from joining the Congress. The last word however remains with Prakash who is yet to take a stand.
