BBMP briefs

Encroachment

The BBMP has taken action against encroachment of a footpath and an illegally constructed compound in C V Raman Nagar (ward no. 83) following directives from the Commissioner Dr S Subramanya.

The Commissioner had visited the Kaggadasapura Main Road on January 5. He noticed how hawkers had occupied the entire footpath of the market on Nagavarapallya main road, making the road very narrow. He issued orders for the encroachment to be removed on January 9.  He also ordered that the compound wall constructed illegally in the land opposite the S C T Technical Institutions in the same ward be demolished.

BBMP’s caution

BBMP has cautioned the public and contractors of penal action, if public utility pipelines are laid affecting the flow in drains and culverts.

According to Palike commissioner Dr S Subramaya, pipelines affecting the normal flow in drains had led to flooding in many areas. To avoid such instances in the future, the Palike, on the recommendations of an expert committee, has appealed to the public to lay pipelines below the bed of drains.

Property tax

Pay property tax on time, or else, BBMP officers will visit your house to collect the tax dues. The Palike’s Revenue Department officers will now visit houses to collect property tax.
