Swami Vivekananda not only gave new dimension to the youth power but also achieved many things in his short span of life. The present day youth need to follow the footsteps of the Vivekananda and should be creative and energetic, said BJP Chief Secretary R V Puttakamanna. He was speaking at the programme organised on the occasion of National Youth Day as well as birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda at BJP office here on Saturday.

Vivekananda was not only a erudite scholar but was also a  patriot and good orator who had lot of worldly knowledge and was a champion of humanism, opined Puttakamanna who said that Vivekananda believed in the immense but latent power in the youth and  this energy could be used to do wonders if self respect, confidence, positive feeling and inspiration is installed in the youth. It was Vivekananda who thought the world that one should never forego their goal and should always keep trying in that direction, he added.

If youth power is wisely used not only the society but also nation can progress, opined BJP city unit president Lakshminarayana.
