Drinking water problem in the Nandi Zilla Panchayat premises has been resolved, said Zilla Panchayat
member G R Narayanswamy on Friday.
He was speaking after inaugurating a small water tank unit worth Rs 2.8 lakh near Kandavara recently.
Top priority has been given to drinking water and a borewell will be dug out for every eight houses, he added.
Utilised fruitfully
Grants given to the Zilla Panchayat members is being completely utilised for developmental works.
Cement roads, over-head tanks, drainage and other permanent developmental works is being undertaken in every village, said Mr Narayanswamy.
Delay effects
Due to the delay in the release of grants by the concerned officers, the developmental works in the taluk has been affected, said JD(S) leader K V Nagaraj.
Due to the pioneering efforts of former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy Chikkaballapur was given the status of a district and hence the onus of developing the district rests upon the concerned officials, he added.
Also, Zilla Panchayat member Prabhavati, Taluk Panchayat vice president K R Reddy and other leaders were also present at the inaugural function.
