Drivers and citizens should follow the rules and regulations of road and thereby co-operate for smooth vehicular movement, said Circle Police Inspector Narayanaswamy here.
He was speaking at the road safety week organised by the Police department here. He also said that by following the transport rules, many accidents can be avoided.
He warned against drinking while driving, speed driving and parking of vehicles in no-parking places and thereby causing inconvenience to the public.
Some drivers also involve in eve-teasing, misbehaviour with women who walk on roads and suitable action would be taken against them, he added.
Government Girls’ Pre-University College Principal K C Krishna Reddy inaugurated the procession, in which school and college students from various institutions participated.
Renukamma, Vice principal of the college, Police Sub Inspector Somashekhar and others were present.
