Dakshina Kannada Telecom district has extended the broadband services to the semi-urban areas. The broadband services are made available in 10 new stations of Hebri, Neermarga, Muniual, Kurnad, Gramachavadi, Shirva, Shankarapura, Polali, Gurpura, Mijar, Mallur, Padubidri and Ujire, said Principal General Manager T N Sudhindra Kumar.
Addressing a press meet here on Friday, he said for the broadband users, the Telecom has introduced 500 C and 500 C+ schemes. In 500 C plan, the monthly charge is Rs 500, upload/download limit is 1.5 GB, there is no monthly charges for telephone and 175 free calls.
The charges for the additional usage charges/MB beyond free download and upload is 0.80 paise. In 500 C+ plan, the monthly charge is Rs 600, download/upload limit is 2.5 GB, there is no monthly charges for telephone and 50 free calls. The call charges beyond free call limit are as per ‘One India’ plan for both the plans.
Mr Kumar said business, business 2000, business 4,000 and business 15,000 have been introduced.
He said Karnataka telecom circle has launched a promotional offer for the benefit of PCO customers named business plan 2007. In this plan, the PCO franchises will be given free calls in lieu of commission being paid at present. The security deposits will be charged in two installments and the permission will be given within two days.
The telecom has two enquiry numbers. They are 2444444 for broadband and 2443321 for PCO enquiries and booking.
Mr Kumar said that the BSNL has also introduced ‘Call now card’ of Rs 2000 wherein the call rates for US and Canada is Rs 1.75 per minute and Gulf countries is Rs 6 per minute. The validity is 105 days.
