A global network of Alumni of St Aloysius College in Mangalore, Aloysian Partners International (API) was inaugurated at the Aloysius high School premises on Saturday. Alumni of the college from different parts of the world had assembled on this very special day in the history of St Aloysius College.
Seven distinguished alumni of the college, who have performed memorable service to the society in various fields were honoured on the occasion. They are Ivan Fernandes who founded ‘Ducont,’ a Dubai Internet City based organisation, Rajesh Rao, Founder and CEO of Dhruva Interactive, a games company, Dr Deric Lobo, former WHO regional advisor for Leprosy, Eric Ozario, President of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy, Ananthakrishna, Chairman of Karnataka Bank, Victor Pais, Partner of Sigma, a supplier of iron products such as pipe fittings to American Water Works System and Clarence Pais, advocate and notary. Four other noted alumni Vinay Hegde, President of Nitte Education Trust, George Fernandes, former Union Minister, Blasius D’Souza, MLC and Justice J F Saldanha, former Karnataka High court Judge were also supposed to be honoured. But they failed to turn up for the event.
Mr Ananthakrishna unveiled the API club and Mr Victor Pais spoke on the aims and structure of API. Mr Rajesh Rao released the Aloysian Endowment Document. Earlier, Fr Denzil Lobo gave a presentation on St Aloysius Institutions.
Co-founder of Aloysian Partners of North America (APNA) Joe Gonsalves and others were present on the occasion.
