Veteran filmmakers Shakti Samanta and Lekh Tondon who were honoured with Lifetime Achievement Awards for 2006 and 2007 respectively considered their awards equivalent to Hollywood’s Oscar. The Indian Film & Television Directors Association annually awards to its veterans Lifetime Achievement awards which were given away on January 5 at Bhavan College Sardar Patel Hall.  Clippings of their films were shown amidst  applause by the members of the Association.
