JD(S) national president H D Deve Gowda, on Saturday, said that he will appoint five division-level working presidents for the party to strengthen the party’s base.
Speaking at Swamy Vivekananda’s birth anniversary programme organised at the party office, Mr Deve Gowda said that five working presidents will work along with Narayanaswamy to strengthen the party.
“With divisional level working presidents we can concentrate on all regions of the state”, he said.
Deve Gowda said he will also appoint 15 working presidents for the party’s women’s wing.
Similarly many district units of the party will be re-constituted, the former prime minister said.

JD(S) national president H D Deve Gowda has appointed former Lok Sabha member C Narayanaswamy working president of the party. With this, Narayanaswamy has replaced former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy.
Reacting to the appointment of new working president, Kumaraswamy said “I gave up the party position long ago. I am ready to work for the party without any position. Moreover the party has already announced that it is going to face the coming elections under my leadership”.
Kumaraswamy said he will start holding meetings with party leaders from districts and taluks at the party’s office from February 1. He will also join party’s leaders for state wide tour to strengthen the party, he added.
