The district Utsav of Tumkur mainly focuses on the cultural and entertainment programmes and it will be a programme completely dedicated to the public for entertainment purpose, said Deputy Commissioner S R Umashankar here.
Speaking at a press conference , he said that, cultural programmes will be given more preference and every evening, various art troupes will perform various programmes. Catalogue of cultural events for the programme will be released soon.
Also, a systematic tour programme to tourist places such as Madhugiri and Tiptur with private partnership will be arranged as part of the Utsav, he added.
He justified the venue selected for the cultural programme saying that, no other field in the city is as suitable as Government Junior College ground.
Beautification
‘We will not destroy the field, but will beautify it again after the Utsav ends at an estimated cost of Rs 50,000 to Rs 60,000.
Measures will also be taken to ensure that the general public will not be troubled for morning walk and alternate system will be done , he added.
