She was speaking after inaugurating the legal awareness camp organised by Kunigal taluk legal services committee, advocates’ association, labour department and taluk industries association at BBM College premises recently. Both Agriculture and Industries play a pivotal role in the country’s development, she added.
District labourer officer G V Karagi spoke on building and labourer’s act 1996 and rules of the act 2006. There are several projects being taken up for the workers such as Rs 2,000 incentive for the family of the labourer in cases of sudden death, incentives for medical treatment, Rs one lakh compensation in case of death due to accidents and other facilities for those who register their names under Kalyana Mandali scheme. Scholarships will also be provided for educating children , he added.
