Yuva Jana Mela and 146th birthday celebrations of Swami Vivekananda will be held on January 16 in Kolar under the aegis of Jannaghatta Sri Chowdeshwari Folk, Cultural and Sports development youth association, District administration, Youth Services and Sports department, Nehru Youth Center, Kannada and Cultural department, Vasavi Youth association, Vasavi club and Kuvempu Cultural Women’s associations.
On January 16, at 10 am, Zilla Panchayat President A C Nagaratna will inaugurate the function at the Journalists Bhavan on Antharagange road. Zilla Panchayat member Balaji Chennaiah will unveil Swami Vivekananda’s photo.
V P Somashekhar, President of Vasavi Yuvajana Sangha will preside over the function. KOMUL President K N Nagaraj, kannada and Culture department assistant director B S Venkatachalapathi and others will participate as chief guests.
