As part of the bi-decennial year celebrations, Dr M V Shetty Institute of Health Sciences will organise five days of events to mark the celebration from January 14 onwards.
Addressing a press meet here on Friday, Founder Secretary Dr M Ramgopal Shetty said there will be inter-collegiate throwball tournament on January 14 and 15 at Mangala stadium in Mangalore. The tournament will be inaugurated by Superintendent of Police Sathish Kumar. Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Senate Member Dr Nidarsh Hegde, Trustee will be the guests of honour.
On January 16, there will be blood donation camp at Dr M V S T Auditorium. It will be inaugurated by DC M Maheshwar Rao. Fruits will be distributed to the patients of Government Wenlock Hospital and Lady Goschen Hospital and Old age home.
He said on Jaunuray 17, there will be South zone nursing conference on the theme ‘Changing face of nursing newer perspective’ at T M A Pai International Convention Centre. The main topics to be discussed at the conference are ‘Changing scenario in nursing practice,’ ‘Changing scenario in nursing education (soft skills),’ panel discussion on professional roles and research utilisation in nursing, image of nursing and panel discussion on issues in nursing.
The conference will be inaugurated by Manipal University Pro-Chancellor Dr H S Ballal.
As part of the conference, there will be inter-collegiate cultural competition, inter-collegiate literary competition ‘cognizant 2008,’ poster competition, quiz and paper presentation at the venue.
