“Stand By Your Promise”
Srinagar, Jan. 13.
Speaking at a large congregation at the holy shrine of Dargah Hazrat Bal, six miles from Srinagar, after midday prayers today, Sheikh Abdullah demanded that Mr Nehru should “stand by his promise to let Kashmiris decide their future”.
“The accession of Kashmir is not to be decided by the perorations of Mr Krishna Menon or by guns and bullets.
‘Begin To Export Finished Products’
Calcutta, Jan. 13.
Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Morarji Desai, asked the industrialists here today to intensify the export of manufactured goods to foreign countries.
This would not only earn foreign exchange but also increase the wealth of the country, he added.

CM Warns Against Discrimination
Trivandrum, Jan. 13.
Karnataka Chief Minister Ramakrishna Hegde said today that his Government would strive for friendly Centre – State relations but “if there is any attempt to discriminate against the Government just because it is a non – Congress Government, it will be fought.”However, he would not like to insist on a recasting of Centre-State relations now because the Constitution had ample provisions for State autonomy, he added.
