Former chief minister and Maharashtra Governor S M Krishna has said he is clueless about his role in the coming elections in Karnataka. “I don’t know what is there in the womb of future. I can’t define at any given point of time,” was his reply when asked whether he would be joining active politics in Karnataka.
Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, Krishna said he accepted the post of Maharashtra governor willingly as per the decision of the party. “I don’t know what will happen in future,” he said. However, he admitted that a section of leaders in the state unit of the party are demanding his re-entry into state politics.
Krishna has been staying in Bangalore for the last three days. He came to Bangalore as his elder sister passed away on Friday. Maharashtra chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, KPCC president Mallikarjun Kharge, senior leaders of the party R V Deshpande, D K Shivakumar and others met Krishna at his residence in Sadashivanagar and offered their condolences.
It is said the party leaders who met him also appealed to him to re-join active politics in the State. Krishna reportedly told his supporters it is left to the party’s high command to decide what should be his role in the coming elections.
