Read Kannada newspapers: Bhairappa

Every Kannadiga should buy and read Kannada papers everyday and should develop the habit of reading Kannada books, said Rajyotsava awardee K Bhairappa.


He was speaking after hoisting the flag at the Kannada Rajyotsava programme organised by Rajavardhana Vinayaka Friends Association at D Kalkere village.

ZP member N R Jayaram, who inaugurated the  programme said it is a welcome development that Kannada is gaining grounds in villages though unfortunately it is being neglected in cities. Kannada chutuku sahitya parishat president G Kuntegowda said celebration of  Kannada Rajyotsava should not be restricted to the month of November. It should be celebrated throughout the year.

Karnataka Rakshana Vedike president D P Raju urged for preference to Kannadigas in Karnataka. Best teacher awardee K H Anandaraju was felicitated on the occasion.

Former gram panchayat member K V Mrityunjaya presided over the function. Yogananda, T S Boregowda, gram panchayat members Parthasarathi, Mustaap, Manjula prakash, media representative K S Nagaraju participated. High school principal Kempegowda welcomed the gathering. Urdu school teacher Venkategowda proposed vote of thanks.
