National Youth day celebrated

"It is children who come from a difficult background, who become excellent citizens of the country because they realise the problems of the country and try to work towards solving them.", said Kruthartha Trustee Sharada Rajanna.



She was speaking at the National Youth day organised by the Bangalore K R S foundation at the Government Papu college at Sira.

Prof Malimuddanna who also spoke on the occasion added that the power of the youth was the strength on which the future of the country relied on. This aspect had to be kept in mind when one planned for the future of the country so the power can be  fully utilised. “Swami Vivekananda’s principles should be followed by every young person so he may be able to reach his full potential” said the teacher.

The introductory speech was given by K R S Foundation Secretary A R Srinivasiaha and the chief guest of the  programme was Jannappa. K P Krishna Murthy presented a special lecture on the occasion.

A elocution competition was held for high school students on the topic- The role of youth in National development. There were students from more than 36 schools from all over the taluk.

The winners in the competition  Shivakumar of P U College in Lakkanhalli, H K Kiran from Anjinaiyya Highschool at Bargur, K Mallanna of Panchiganhalli. A blood donation camp has been organised under the joint aegis of General Hospital and the LNR family on January 15 at 9 am. The camp is being organised on the occasion of the 38th birthday of social worker P L Nagaraj. The people are being requested to come out in large numbers and support this noble cause.
