As part of the celebrations to commemorate 150 years of the first war of Indian Independence organised under ‘Bharatayana,’ acclaimed director Feroz Abbas Khan will be screening his directorial debut ‘Gandhi My Father’ in Manipal on January 15.
According to a press release, the screening has been organised by the Centre for Humanities of Manipal University in association with Manipal Film Study Centre (MFSC). The film shall be screened twice at the Dr T M A Pai planetarium auditorium at 2 pm and 6 pm on January 15 followed by discussions and interaction with the director himself.
One of the pioneers of Indian theatre today, Feroz Abbas Khan’s plays have been staged to packed audiences across the world including the Lincoln centre and the United Nations in New York.
His recent adaptation of Arthur Miller’s classic ‘Death of a Salesman’ is considered a landmark in the world of Indian theatre. With the critically acclaimed ‘Gandhi My Father,’ he makes a stupendous entry into the arena of Indian cinema. The movie has created waves all over the world. He was recently felicitated by Harvard University with a special screening of the film and discussion.
