Dakshina Kannada Taximen’s Association have condemned the act of the Government for urging the taxis to be installed with speed governors. The Association will stage a protest against the Government move on January 16, said President K Monappa Bhandary.
Addressing a press meet here on Saturday, he said the installation of speed governors will cost Rs 15,000, which is a burden on the taxi owners. The speed governors should be installed for goods vehicle and stage carriage vehicles.
The government’s order has created confusion among those inter-state taxi owners and tourists vehicles. As part of the protest, there will be protest march from Bavutagudde to the DC office. A memorandum will be submitted urging the government take back its order on speed governors.
