The Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (ACCE) organised an annual award for outstanding buildings in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts for the first time and the award function was held recently.
According to a press release, awards were given to outstanding residential villa in Udupi, Outstanding residential building in DK and outstanding multi storied structure.
Out of the 4 nominations received for outstanding residential villa in Udupi, ‘Yerthady,’ the house of Satish Shetty Yerthady was selected. Engineers and Contractor of the building, K N Alva and Devadas respectively were felicitated.
In the outstanding residential building in DK category, Sangam, the house of Satish Bhandary was chosen for the award from 16 entries. Architect and contractor of the building Venkatesh Pai and Devadas respectively were felicitated.
Mangalore’s tallest building (18 floors) K-2 promoted by SKS group was selected for the Outstanding multi storied structure award. Its architect Sananth Kumar Shetty, structural engineers K S Babunarayan, Premanand Shenoy and contractors M Fer constructions were felicitated at the award function. The awards were sponsored by Ultratech.
NITK Director Prof Sandeep Sancheti was the chief guest at the award function. National President of ACCE Umesh Rao presided and Vice President (Marketing) of Ultratech Ramesh Kumar gave away the awards. Dr Manmohan Kalgal felicitated the jury members.
Chairman of Mangalore ACCE Rajendra Kalbavi, Secretary Mukund Kamath and others were present.
