KRV activists seek justice for Kannadigas
Kolar Gold Fields, DHNS:

Karnataka Rakshana Vedike activists staged  a protest demanding the authorities concerned to help Kannadigas who are being neglected in the the process of recruiting ‘D’ group employees in South Western Railway Department.

“When the South Western Zone was established, everybody in the state felt that our dream has come true. It was a clear indication of progress. People were of the view that new railway routes would play an important role in developing the Karnataka State. Moreover, it would  provide jobs to Kannadigas.

Unfortunately,  the dream has been shattered. Now, it seems the establishment of  South Western  Railway Zone has turned out to be bane instead of a boon. Kannadigas have been neglected in the D Group recruitment.  This has brought distress  among Kannadigas,”  said Karnataka Rakshana Vedike District Unit President S Madirappa.

The protesters took out the rally from Gollahalli and passed through various streets of the town. They also raised slogans against Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav.

Effigy

They burnt the effigy of the minister near Andersonpet circle.  Later, they submitted memorandum to Circle Inspector Puttamadaiah.  Former MLA Bhaktavatsalam, city municipal members,  Kannada Association President Veera Venkatappa , V N Prakash, Nanjudappa, and other activists were present on the occasion.
