Congress Vokkaligas have expressed their dissatisfaction over the foundation laying ceremony for Taluk Vokkaliga Community Bhavan  on January 18.     JD(S) Supremo H D Deve Gowda and and former minister Alanagur Sreenivas are scheduled to inaugurate the ceremony on January 18.

Vokkaliga community members of various political parties have contributed for the  community bhavan.  Hence,  only JD(S) vokkaligas  should not inaugurate it.  Alangur Sreenivas has no power, hence either Governor or Deputy Commissioner can inaugurate the event, said Congress Vokkaligas. It’s very evident that Mr Sreenivas is trying to regain the support of people by inaugurating the event. Moreover, JD( S) Supremo H D Deve Gowda has decided to start his election campaign from this place,  Congress Vokkaligas said.

Had Mr Deve Gowda agreed to inaugurate the event on any other day,  taluk vokkaliga community members would have accepted it, they said. But, Alangur Sreenivas is keen  on inaugurating the event on January 18.  “We are not ready to accept it,” said Congress  District Secretary K V Shankarappa, Block COngress President G Ramalingareddy, Kadenahalli Chowdegowda and vokkaliga leaders were present on the occasion.
