The BWSSB has said it has decided against relocation of its four pipelines, said to be clashing with the route of Peripheral Road connecting NH4 to NH7 and the Link Road between downtown Bangalore and the Peripheral Road, forming part of BMIC project.
BWSSB has said so in its statement of objections filed before the High Court in response to a writ petition by NICE that has sought directions for steps to shift and relocate BWSSB pipelines at four places here.
NICE has sought relocation of pipelines said to be falling in way of Peripheral Road and Link Road constructions at four places - the transmission line at Channasandra village on Uttarahalli-Kengeri Road, at Pantarapalya, the pipeline parallel to BDA ring road near PES College, and at the junction of Peripheral Road to interconnecting loop road towards Electronic City.
BWSSB has said that two of the pipelines sought to be shifted are pumping water throughout the year and disturbing them for shifting works would affect water supply to Bangalore International Airport, western and northern parts of the City, IAF, BSF, Banashankari III Stage, and RajaRajeshwari nagar areas.
Other pipelines are in places where road routes are not finalised and NICE has not consulted the Board in this regard, BWSSB has contended, while saying that it would refund the amount deposited by NICE in this regard. The court posted the petition to January 21, for final disposal, while giving opportunity to NICE to file its rejoinder statement.
