Governor greets

Panel formed
Following committees have been formed to select personalities for the 12 State awards for 2007. Eshwarappa Guppa Angadi heads panel for the Janapada Sree award. B T Lalitha Naik heads panel on Dana Chintamani award. Prof V Ramarathnam panel for Kanaka-Purandara award. Prof Nisar Ahmed panel for Basava Puraskara award, for the Jakanachari award, B N Channappacharya panel. Dr G S Amur headed committee for Pampa award. Enagi Balappa will chair the panel on the Dr Gubbi Veeranna award. Vidwan Vellur panel for T Chowdiah award. K B Madhavarao will head the panel for Shantala Natya award, and B K Hubli the committee for the Varnashilpi Venkatappa award; C K Thara will head the committee for Santha Shishunala Sharief award; Baraguru Ramachandrappa panel to identify remake films.

Tariff cut hailed
Bangalore, dhns: Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association has welcomed Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission’s (KERC) order to slash power tariff recently. KASSIA in a release said the order is a boon to small industries which are in bad shape due to various problems, including power.
