4 held for murder bid
Bangalore, DHNS:

A family feud took a serious turn, landing a severely burnt couple and their one-year-old daughter in Victoria Hospital. The three are fighting for their lives with 40 per cent burns.

Police arrested four persons, including two women, for allegedly setting them ablaze at Channakeshava Nagar, in Parappana Agrahara police station limits, in the early hours of Sunday.

According to the police, Rekha (29), her mother Varamahalakshmi, Rekha’s family friends Ravindra and Sampath, all residents of Palmaner in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, are said to have tried to kill Muniyappa, Pushpa and their daughter Lakshmishri by setting them ablaze.

Rekha was the first wife of Muniyappa who was living separately for the last two years. Muniyappa allegedly had extra-marital relations with Pushpa, which Rekha could not tolerate. The latter also wanted a share in Muniyappa’s property owned at Channakeshava Nagar.

This enraged Rekha. An attempt to murder case was booked against the four.
