Eyewitnesses said they were shocked to see skeletons buried in the middle of the hay field. The incident came to light when an accidental fire broke out.  Two fire tenders were pressed to the spot, and firemen found the skeletons while putting out the flames.

Fire officials have lodged a complaint with Mahadevapura police, and the skeletons have been sent to FSL for further examination.

Following the discovery of the skeletons, rumours that someone who was sleeping had been burnt alive began to spread. A senior police officer brushed aside umours, saying that there were no traces of flesh.
