A four-member gang attacked Rasheeda near the Malleswaram railway station on Tuesday.
Police said that Rasheeda, along with her two children, was travelling in the train and was supposed to alight at the Yeshwathpur railway station. When there was no one else in the compartment, the culprits forcibly tried to harm her and snatch her bag. She managed to overpower them and jumped from the running train.
A complaint has been lodged at the Yeshwanthpur railway police. Police are clueless as to how Rasheeda managed to get off the train with the children.
In another incident, miscreants targeted a passenger Kokila on Mysore express. According to the complaint, when the train reached Nayandanahalli, some culprits standing on the platform tried to snatch her gold chain from the window.
The thieves forcibly pulled her gold chain. The chain gave way and they managed to pull out a portion of the chain, the worth of which has been estimated at around Rs 24,000.
Kokila, who was injured, has been admitted to Nimhans.
