The birth celebrations of the Gurusiddarameshwara will be held at SVP Composite PU college in Tiptur on January 20, said Karnataka Bhovi Mahasabha taluk president Shankarappa.
The programme will be lead by Sri Sharanaswamiji of Bagalkote Bhovi peeta and Sri Immadi Siddarameshwaraswamiji of Chitradurga Bhovi peeta, added Shankarappa who said that it is the first time that Mahasabha has organised the birth celebrations in Tiptur.
Karnataka Bhovi Mahasabha’s president R Muniraju will preside over the function, JD(U) State president B Somesekhar and former minister H M Revanna will inaugurate the function. Nonavinakere Kadusiddeshwara mutt’s Karibasava Deshikendra swamiji, Shadkshari mutt’s sri Rudramuniswamiji and Tiptur Veerashaivanandashram’s sri Basavaanubhava swamiji will grace the occasion.
Litterateurs Bommalingappa from Hosadurga , K Kettanakere and K S Siddappa will speak about the history of Guru Siddarameshwara. Prof R S Lashkari will brief the people about the genesis of the Bhovi community.
Leaders H D Revanna, former MLA J C Madhuswamy, B Nanjamari, D L Jagadeesh Makali, Bhovi community senior leader H Ravi, M Yallappa, MP S Mallikarjunaiah, former MP Dr Venkatesh Raju, State Bhovi president Parvatamma and other leaders are expected to participate in the function, said Shankarappa.
A rally will taken out from Kerekodi circle to the premises of the function on the morning of the function and many folk artiste group will participate in the rally, he added. Around 10,000 people from all over the state are expected to attend the function, said Shankarappa.
