Deaf and dumb students of Indian Red Cross have been selected for national level sports, after participating at the state-level sports meet held at Davanagere in the month of December.

Out of the ten students who participated eight have bagged gold, five have e bagged silver and three have bagged bronze medals, said Deputy Commissioner S R Umashankar, in a release.

N Pushpalatha, Shilpa, Jayalakshmi, Parveen Taj,  Gayathti, Gangaraju, Girish, Irshad Khan, Chethan will  participate at the national level sports meet which will be held from January 21 to 25 at Jharkhand. The sate government has awarded State award for physical education teacher A Lalitha for the year 2006-07, he added.
